Italy: Bars and restaurants reopen for indoor service

 

On Tuesday, Italy took another step toward normalcy, allowing pubs and restaurants to serve customers inside rather than solely at tables outdoors, as the country's COVID-19 regulations continue to be eased.


According to the health ministry, there have been 2,483 new cases of COVID-19 across Italy in the previous 24 hours, with 93 additional casualties.

On Monday, there were 1,820 new cases and 82 new casualties.  Since the outbreak began, there have been 4,220,304 cases reported, with 126,221 deaths.

Since the beginning of the epidemic, 3,868,332 people have been recovered and released, up 10,313 from Monday.

 

The number of those who are now positive has dropped to 225,751, down 7,923 from Monday. Intensive care cases have decreased by 44 percent to 989, but hospital admissions have increased by three percent to 41. Save Big on Cheap Flights

 

Domestic isolation now affects 218,570 persons, down from 21,589 on Monday.

A total of 221,818 tests have been completed, compared to 86,977 on Monday.

The positivity rate has dropped by 1%, from 2.1 percent to 1.1 percent.
