Europe: 2010-2020 was the warmest decade in history

The Copernicus annual report concluded that 2010-2020 is the hottest decade in history, and that by the end of 2020 it has increased by 0.4 degrees Celsius compared to 2019.

The report also shows that in the past year, the concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere continued to rise at a rate of approximately 2.3 parts per million (ppm), reaching a peak of 431 ppm in May.

The temperature in 2020 is 0.6 degrees Celsius higher than the average temperature from 1981 to 2010, and 1.25 degrees Celsius higher than the pre-industrial period of 1850-1900.

According to these observations, the annual maximum temperature rise above the 1981-2010 average is concentrated in the Arctic Ocean and northern Siberia, which is more than 6 degrees Celsius above the average.
