Cyprus: New Covid-19 travel rules and restrictions

Cyprus, the third most populated and biggest country in the area, offers a diverse range of attractions for curious and daring travelers. The nation is recognized for its around 40 blue-flagged beaches, which are ranked #1 on the list of pure swimming water by the European Environment Agency.

The nation is recognized as the birthplace of the Greek goddess of love, Aphrodite, and is home to mythology-themed monuments such as the Adonis Baths, a magnificent waterfall near Krya Vrysi.

Three Cypriot monuments are protected by the United Nations Education, Scientific, and Cultural Organization: Choirokoitia, Painted Churches in the Troodos Region, and Paphos.

Every Monday, the country updates a risk assessment list based on the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control (ECDC), which categorizes global countries into three groups and specifies the regulations for travelers arriving in Cyprus from each country.

Green nations are low-risk, orange countries are moderately high-risk, and red countries are highly high-risk.

According to the Cypriot government's most recent risk assessment, green nations, which are exempt from any testing or self-isolation requirements, include the following:

Austria, Bulgaria, Germany, Latvia, Hungary, Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, The Czech Republic, Liechtenstein, Norway, Australia, North Macedonia, Jordan, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore.

Apart from green nations, fully vaccinated travelers, regardless of nationality, are able to visit the Republic of Cyprus without being subjected to isolation or testing. However, before entering the Republic of Cyprus, a necessary form must be completed within 24 hours.

Those entering from orange-colored nations must provide a negative PCR test certificate stating that the bearer tested negative for Coronavirus within the previous 72 hours before arriving in Cyprus.

According to the most current risk assessment list, the following nations fall into the orange category:

Belgium, Greece, Italy, Croatia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Sweden, Finland, Vatican City, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Qatar, China, Hong Kong, Macau, Taiwan, Bahrein, Serbia, Saudi Arabia.

For indoor events involving more than one person and outdoor activities involving more than two persons, the country has mandated the use of a face mask as of July 30.
