Italian COVID-19 vaccine will be ready by September

The Italian drug agency AIFA said on Wednesday that the COVID vaccine developed by the Italian company ReiThera will be available in September.

AIFA Chairman Giorgio Palù told Sky TG24 that starting this month, millions of ReiThera jabs may be taken.

The Minister of Health Roberto Speranza said that the Italian government will invest public funds in ReiThera, located in Castel Romano, a suburb of Rome.

He said: "This is a correct and important choice." "We must be stronger in this crisis to ensure the health of the people today and tomorrow."

Italy has more vaccinations than any other EU member state, but it has been hit by Pfizer's delayed delivery.

AstraZeneca Vaccine also said that its vaccine delivery will be much lower than expected.
