Norway government will relax coronavirus restrictions

Prime Minister Erna Solberg said on Monday that Norway will relax restrictions on the coronavirus because the additional measures taken for two weeks seem to have had the desired effect, although she added that the infection rate is still too high People feel at ease.

The country has one of the lowest infection rates in Europe and has imposed strict restrictions earlier than many other countries. Solberg told Congress: "Although these measures seem to be effective and the infection rate has decreased, the situation remains uncertain."

Norway has imposed some of the strictest travel restrictions on Europe and has recently implemented mandatory COVID-19 tests at its borders. "The infection rate is still high, but by working together, we can reduce transmission," Solberg said.

She added: "Every week, we can get close to the situation of the week, where enough people have been vaccinated so that we can return to normal."
