The Civil
Protection Department announced on Thursday that Italy had
registered 333 new coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours.
This is
generally stable compared to 329 new cases registered on Wednesday.
The Department said 216 new cases, 64.8% of all, were registered in
Lombardy, the region most affected by the disaster.
It was
found that only four regions did not report any new cases on Thursday
- Umbria, Valle D'Aosta, Molise and Basilicata.
The
Protezione Civile said 66 COVID-19 sufferers had died in the last 24
hours, increasing the total number of fatalities to 34,514. It was
over 43 deaths on Wednesday. It said 36 of Thursday's deaths occurred
in Lombardy, compared with 14 on Wednesday. It is said that 180,544
people have recovered from COVID-19 here, an increase of 1 089 one
day.
The number
of people infected with coronavirus in Italy now is 23.101 people in
Italy are, a decrease of 824 people per day. The total number of
reported cases in Italy is 238.159, including the current positive,
dead and recovered cases.
After
several weeks of continuous falls, the number of coronavirus patients
in intensive care has increased. The department said 168 patients are
receiving intensive care, an increase of five from Wednesday.
